Ludovic Bruckstein, scriitorul evreu din Sighet

🇷🇴 Scriitorul Ludovic (Joseph-Leib, Arye) Bruckstein s-a născut la 27 iulie 1920, la Muncaciu, atunci în Cehoslovacia, acum în Ucraina. A crescut, însă în Sighet.
În Sighet, înainte de al Doilea Război Mondial, tatăl lui Ludovic Bruckstein, Mordechai, deținea o mică fabrică care producea bastoane de mers care erau exportate în diferite țări europene. Întreprinderea de familie exporta și plante medicinale care cresc în Maramureș și erau culese de țăranii din satele din împrejurimi.Bruckstein a început să scrie încă din liceu.
În primăvara anului 1944, după ce au petrecut câteva săptămâni în ghetoul de la Sighet, familia Bruckstein, tatăl, mama și cei patru copii, au fost deportați, împreună cu toți evreii orașului, în Auschwitz.
În Auschwitz, Leibi Bruckstein a primit numărul A37013. După eliberare Bruckstein s-a întors la casa lui din Sighet, însă a aflat că singurul supraviețuitor din familia sa a fost fratele său mai mic, Israel.
La sfârșitul anului 1970 a solicitat oficial viză de emigrare în Israel, împreună cu soția, fiul și soacra.
Lucrările, romanele, poveștile și piesele lui Bruckstein se ocupă de soarta uneori crudă, alteori comică, dar mai ales indiferentă a oamenilor simpli ale căror vieți sunt sub controlul unor forțe extrem de imprevizibile.
În Israel, Bruckstein a câștigat Premiul Jerusalem-Brickman, Premiul Zion și Premiul pentru literatură al Jewish Agency pentru munca sa.

Szigeten, a második világháború előtt, Ludovic Bruckstein apjának, Mordechajnak volt egy kis gyára, itt sétapálcákat gyártott, amelyeket különféle európai országokba exportáltak. A családi vállalkozás máramarosi gyógynövényeket is exportált.
Bruckstein még középiskolás korában kezdett el írni.1944 tavaszán, a szigeti gettóban töltött néhány hét után, a Bruckstein családot, apát, anyát és négy gyermeket a város összes zsidójával együtt Auschwitzba deportálták.
Auschwitzban Leibi Bruckstein fogoly száma: A37013. A felszabaditás után Bruckstein visszatért szigeti otthonába, hogy ott megtudja, családjának egyetlen túlélője az öccse, Izrael.
1970 végén feleségével, fiával és anyósával együtt hivatalosan is kivándorlási vízumot kért Izraelbe.
Bruckstein művei, regényei, történetei és színdarabjai egyszerű emberek olykor kegyetlen, néha komikus, de többnyire közömbös sorsával foglalkoznak, akiknek életét rendkívül kiszámíthatatlan erők irányítják.
Izraelben Bruckstein munkásságáért elnyerte a Jerusalem-Brickman-díjat, a Sion-díjat és a Jewish Agency irodalmi díját.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 The writer Ludovic (Joseph-Leib, Arye) Bruckstein was born on the 27th of July 1920, in Munkacs, then in Czechoslovakia, now in Ukraine. He grew up in Sighet, a small town in Maramureș county.
In Sighet, before the Second World War, Ludovic Bruckstein’s father, Mordechai, owned a small factory producing walking canes that were exported to various European countries. The family business also exported medicinal plants that grow in Maramures, and were collected by the peasants in villages around Sighet.
Bruckstein began to write while still in high school.
In the spring of 1944, after spending a few weeks in the Sighet ghetto, the Bruckstein family, father, mother and four children, were deported, along with all the Jews of the town, to Auschwitz.In Auschwitz Leibi Bruckstein got the prisoner I.D. number A37013. Bruckstein returned to his home in Sighet, to find out there that the only other survivor in his family was his younger brother, Israel. In late 1970 he officially applied for an emigration visa, together with his wife, son and mother-in-law.
Bruckstein’s works, novels, stories and plays, deal with the sometimes cruel, sometimes comic, but mostly indifferent fate of simple people whose lives are under the control of highly unpredictable forces.
In Israel, Bruckstein won the Jerusalem-Brickman Prize, the Zion Prize and the Jewish Agency’s Literature Prize for his work.
