Despre Weiser Miklós, industriaș evreu, în paginile unui ziar din anul 1934:

“Am întrebat zece persoane,care este cea mai populară persoană din oraș? Aceasta a fost întrebarea și răspunsul a fost unanim. Toți zece au răspuns la fel: Miklós Weiser. Inginer chimist. Președinte executiv al clubului sportiv Phőnix. Are treizeci și trei de ani. Are o avere uriașă. Dar nu de aceea este popular. Pentru amabilitatea lui, disponibilitatea de sacrificiu, dragostea pentru oraș și mai presus de toate, vocea sa. Are o voce de bariton uimitor de frumoasă. O voce educată, valoroasă. Un impresar a vrut să-l ducă într-un turneu european. Ar putea avea o carieră grozavă de cântăreț. Dar nu poate merge. El este legat aici de fabrică, familie, bogăție. El nu face politică. Ügyvezető elnöke a Phőnix sportklubnak. Harminchárom éves. Óriási vagyona van. De nem azért népszerű. A kedves közvetlenségéért, az áldozatkészségéért, a városszeretetéért és legfőképpen a hangjáért. Csodálatosan szép bariton hangja van. Iskolázott, értékes hang. Egy impresszárió európai körútra akarta vinni. Mint énekes nagy karriert csinálhatna. De nem mehet. Ideköti a gyár, a család, a vagyon. Nem politizál. Rengeteget dolgozik és nyoma sincs benne a gazdagok nagyképűségének. Mindenki szereti. Méltán viseli a sokat jelentő címet: Nagybánya legnépszerűbb embere.

I asked ten inhabitants who is the most popular person in town? That was the question and the answer was unanimous. All ten answered in the same way: Miklós Weiser. Chemical engineer. Executive chairman of the Phőnix sports club. He is thirty-three years old. He has a huge fortune. But that’s not why it’s popular. For his kind directness, his willingness to sacrifice, his love of the city and, above all, his voice. He has an amazingly beautiful baritone voice. An educated, valuable voice. An impresario wanted to take him on a European tour. He could have a great career as a singer. But he can’t go. He is tied here by the factory, family, wealth. He doesn’t do politics. He works a lot and has no trace of the pomposity of the rich. Everyone loves him. He deserves the very significant title: Baia Mare’s most popular man.”
