Zelda Herskovits. S-a căsătorit cu Márton Izsák, fiul unui brutar din Baia Mare Márton era dentist, un om blând și muncitor, pe care îl cunoștea încă din copilărie. Locuiau împreună cu părinții lui, într-o casă modestă.

În anul 1944, viețile lor au fost răsturnate. Autoritățile maghiare, colaborând cu regimul nazist, i-au obligat să își părăsească casa și i-au închis într-un ghetou. Erau împreună cu cei doi copii ai lor – erau atât de mici, nevinovați. La scurt timp, au fost deportați la Auschwitz.

Nu au mai ieșit niciodată de acolo. Ea, Márton și copiii lor au fost uciși în Holocaust, alături de milioane de alte suflete.

Zelda Herskovits. Férjhez ment Izsák Mártonhoz, egy nagybányai pék fiához. Márton fogorvos volt – szelíd, szorgalmas ember, akit még gyerekkorából ismert. A férfi szüleivel együtt éltek egy szerény, egyszerű házban.

1944-ben azonban az életük gyökeresen megváltozott. A magyar hatóságok a náci rezsimmel együttműködve arra kényszerítették őket, hogy elhagyják otthonukat, és egy gettóba zárták őket. Két kisgyermekükkel voltak együtt – olyan kicsik és ártatlanok voltak. Nem sokkal később Auschwitzba deportáltak őket.

Ők onnan soha többé nem tértek vissza. Ő, Márton és a gyermekeik a holokauszt áldozatai lettek – milliónyi más ártatlan lélekkel együtt.

Zelda Herskovits. She married Márton Izsák, the son of a baker from Baia Mare. Márton was a dentist—a gentle and hardworking man whom she had known since childhood. They lived together with his parents in a modest house.

In 1944, their lives were turned upside down. The Hungarian authorities, collaborating with the Nazi regime, forced them to leave their home and confined them to a ghetto. They were there with their two children—so small, so innocent. Shortly after, they were deported to Auschwitz.

They never came back. She, Márton, and their children were murdered in the Holocaust, along with millions of other souls.
