Frații Steingizser din Sighet

Frații Sandor (n. 1901), Yacov (n. 1899) și Emil (n. 1903) Steingizser. Născuți în Sighet, județul Maramureș, frații au locuit și lucrat în orașul natal. Erau muzicieni în orchestra locală „Keep Smiling”. ⁠

Yacov și Emil Steingizser au fost deportați din ghetoul Sighet în lagărul de exterminare Auschwitz-Birkenau, unde amândoi au fost uciși în 1944.

Fratele lor, Sandor Steingizser, a fost deportat din ghetoul Satu Mare în iunie 1944, soarta lui nu este cunoscută. ⁠

Máramarosszigeten, Máramaros megyében születtek. Szülővárosukban éltek és dolgoztak. A helyi „Keep Smiling” zenekar zenészei voltak.

Yacovot és Emil Steingizsert a szigeti gettóból az auschwitz-birkenaui táborba deportálták, ahol 1944-ben mindkettőjüket meggyilkolták.

Testvérüket, Steingizser Sándort 1944 júniusában deportálták a szatmárnémeti gettóból, sorsa ismeretlen.

Born in Sighet, Maramureș county, Romania, the brothers lived and worked in their hometown. They were musicians in the local “Keep Smiling” orchestra. ⁠

Yacov and Emil Steingizser were deported from the Sighet ghetto to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp, where both were murdered in 1944.

Their brother Sandor Steingizser was deported from the Satu Mare ghetto in June 1944, his fate is unknown. ⁠
