Fischer Sándor

Sándor a trăit în Baia Mare. A fost proprietarul unui magazin de îmbrăcăminte în zona centrului vechi. În mai 1944 Olga și Miriam, mama lui Sándor, au fost forțate în ghetou și pe urmă deportate de jandarmeria maghiară. Au ajuns în lagărul Auschwitz-Birkenau unde au fost ucise de naziști. Sándor a supraviețuit războiului, s-a recăsătorit și a emigrat în Israel.

Sándor lived in Baia Mare (Maramureș county, Romania today). He was the owner of a clothing store in the old town area. In 1942 Sándor was forced to go to the eastern front in a forced labor detachment of the Hungarian army. In May 1944 Olga and Miriam, Sándor’s mother, were forced into the ghetto and then deported by the Hungarian gendarmerie. They ended up in the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp where they were murdered by the Nazis. Sándor survived the war, remarried and immigrated to Israel.
