Fried Rozsi

Fried Rozsi s-a născut în anul 1912, în Baia Mare. A fost fiica lui Lajos și Ela. Aceștia au deținut o spălătorie pe strada Podul Viilor. Lajos a murit în perioada interbelică, iar afacerea a fost preluată de Jenő, băiatul lui. Rozsi a mai avut o soră, Ilonka și un frate, Győző. Lajos și Győző vor ajunge pe frontul de Est în detașamentele de muncă forțată ale armatei maghiare. În mai 1944 Rozsi, Ilonka și mama lor Ela vor fi deportate de autoritățile maghiare (aflate sub ocupație nazistă) în lagărul de exterminare Auschwitz-Birkenau. Singurul supraviețuitor a familiei Fried a fost Lajos. El a trăit până la moartea sa în Baia Mare.

Fried Rozsi 1912-ben született Nagybányán(ma Máramaros megye, Románia). Lajos és Ela lánya volt. Mosodájuk volt a Hid utcában. Lajos a két világháború közötti időszakban meghalt, az üzletet fia, Jenő vette át. Rozsinak volt egy nővére, Ilonka és egy fiú testvére, Győző. Lajos és Győző a keleti fronton köt ki a magyar honvédség kényszermunka-különítményeiben. 1944 májusában Rozsit, Ilonkát és édesanyjukat Elát a magyar hatóságok (akkor náci megszállás alatt) az auschwitz-birkenaui megsemmisítő táborba deportálják. A Fried család egyetlen túlélője Lajos volt. Nagybányán élt a háború után.

Fried Rozsi was born in 1912, in Baia Mare(now Maramureș county, Romania). She was the daughter of Lajos and Ela. They owned a laundry on Podul Viilor street. Lajos died in the interwar period and the business was taken over by Jenő, his son. Rozsi also had a sister, Ilonka and a brother, Győző. Lajos and Győző will end up on the Eastern Front in the forced labor detachments of the Hungarian army. In May 1944 Rozsi, Ilonka and their mother Ela will be deported by the Hungarian authorities (under Nazi occupation at the time) to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp. The only survivor of the Fried family was Lajos. He lived until his death in Baia Mare.
