József Klein, avangardistul Școlii de Pictură Băimărene

🇷🇴 Artistul József Klein s-a născut în 30 ianuarie 1896 într-o familie de evrei din Arad. Însă, întreaga sa carieră artistică este strâns legată de Școala de Pictură din Baia Mare.
Acesta urmează cursurile Academiei de Arte Frumoase de la Budapesta, la clasele profesorilor Ferenczy Károly și Réti Istvan . Se alătură din 1919 coloniei de la Baia Mare, lucrând alături de artiștii conduși de pictorul Thorma János .
Realizează peste 16 expoziții personale și participă la numeroase expoziții colective. În 1925 pleacă la Paris și încearcă să asimileze influențele avangardiste ale vremii. În anul 1932 se stabilești în București, unde va locui până în anul 1937.
Klein și soția sa, Piri Kohn, au fost deportați din Baia Mare, în mai 1944, în lagărul de la Auschwitz, unde au dispărut, fără a se cunoaște clar data decesului.
O parte însemnată a picturilor lui Klein József au fost salvate în timpul Holocaustului de pictorul Krizsán János.

🇭🇺 Klein József művész 1896. január 30-án született egy Arad megyei zsidó családban. Egész művészi pályája azonban szorosan kötődik a nagybányai festőiskolához.
A budapesti Képzőművészeti Főiskolán tanul, Ferenczy Károly és Réti István professzorok osztályában. 1919-ben csatlakozott a nagybányai festőiskolához, ahol Thorma János festőművész vezette művészekkel dolgozott együtt.
Több mint 16 egyéni kiállítása van és számos csoportos kiállításon vesz részt. 1925-ben Párizsba költözik, itt megpróbálta magába olvasztani a korabeli avantgárd hatásokat. 1932-ben Bukarestben telepedett le, ahol 1937-ig lakott.
Kleint és feleségét, Piri Kohnt, 1944 májusában Nagybányáról deportálták az auschwitzi táborba, ahol nem ismert halálozási dátum nélkül tűntek el.
