🇷🇴 În anul 1728 în Ruscova trăia un singur evreu. Denumirea localității în sursele evreiești este Riskeve. În 1840 trăiau 96 de evrei în Ruscova, în 1880 601 evrei, iar la ultimul recensământ, cel din 1941, trăiau 1084 de evrei în comună.
Majoritatea evreilor de aici erau mici comercianți, meseriași și agricultori. Prima sinagogă au construit-o în secolul 19. Avraham Slomo Katz devine rabinul comunității. Avraham Fried, unul dintre liderii sioniștilor din Transilvania, s-a născut în Ruscova. În perioada 19-25 mai 1944 evreii din Ruscova au fost deportați din gara Vișeu de Sus. După finalul războiului s-au întors doar 150 de evrei în comună. Cu toții au emigrat. Azi, nu mai trăiește nici un evreu în comuna Ruscova.

🇭🇺 1728-ban csak egy zsidó élt Visóoroszin. A falu zsidó neve, a zsidó feljegyzések szerint Riskeve.
1840-ben 96 zsidó élt a faluban, míg 1880-ban 601 zsidó. Az utolsó, 1941-es népszámlálás azt mutatja ki, hogy 1084 zsidó nevezte otthonának Visóoroszit.
Az itt élő zsidók többsége kereskedő, mezőgazdasági munkát végző vagy iparos volt.
Az első zsinagóga a XIX épült. Avraham Slomo Katz lett a közösség első rabbija.
Avraham Fried, Erdély egyik cionista vezetője Visóoroszin született.
1944. május 19. és 25. között a ruszkovai zsidókat deportálták a felővisói pályaudvarról.
A második világháború végén mindössze 150 zsidó tért haza. Mindannyian röviddel ezután emigráltak. Ma nem élnek zsidók Visóorosziban.

Between the 19th and the 25th of May 1944, the Jews of Ruscova were deported from Viseu train station.
At the end of The Second World War, only 150 Jews returned home. All of them emigrated shortly after. Today, no Jews live in Ruscova.
