Ghetourile din Baia Mare a fost stabilite în trei puncte ale orașului: primul era situat pe terenurile virane de lângă fabrica de sticlă ”König”, în el fiind aduși cei aproximativ 3.660 de evrei din orașele Baia Mare și Baia Sprie; al doilea a fost plasat în grajdurile unei ferme agricole din Valea Borcutului, sat aflat atunci la 2-3 km de Baia Mare, în acesta fiind transferați cei aproximativ 2.000 de evrei din zonele rurale aparținând districtelor Baia Mare, Șomcuta Mare și Copalnic Mănăștur, iar al treilea a fost în actuala Sinagogă, aici fiind aduși conducătorii evreilor din oraș. Strângerea și mutarea evreilor în lagăre a început la 3 mai 1944. Comandantul lagărelor a fost numit șeful poliției, Nagy Jenő.

A nagybányai gettókat a város három pontján hozták létre: az első a König üveggyár melletti üres telkeken kapott helyet, ide hozták be Nagybánya és Felsőbánya városából a mintegy 3660 zsidót; a másodikat a Nagybányától 2-3 km-re fekvő Borkutón, egy mezőgazdasági farm istállójában helyezték el, ahová a nagybányai, a nagysomkóti és kápolnomonostori körzetekhez tartozó vidéki területekről szállították át mintegy 2000 zsidót, a harmadik gettót pedig a jelenlegi zsinagógában hozták létre, ide a város zsidóságának vezetőit hozták.1944. május 3-án megkezdődött a zsidók táborokba gyűjtése és áttelepítése. A táborparancsnoknak Nagy Jenő rendőrfőkapitányt nevezték ki.

The Baia Mare camp was established in three points of the city: the first was located on the vacant lands near the glass factory “König”, bringing in it the approximately 3.660 Jews from the cities of Baia Mare and Baia Sprie; the second was placed in the stables of an agricultural farm in Valea Borcutului, a village then 2-3 km from Baia Mare, in which were transferred the approximately 2.000 Jews from rural areas belonging to the districts of Baia Mare, Șomcuta Mare and Copalnic Mănăștur, and the third was in the present Synagogue, the leaders of the Jews in the city were brought here.The gathering and relocation of Jews to the camps began on May 3 1944. The camp commander was appointed Chief of Police, Nagy Jenő.
