Katz Mirjam

Katz Mirjam s-a născut în anul 1916 în Baia Mare. Numele ei de fată a fost Deutsch Mirjam. S-a căsătorit cu Katz Ignácz și au locuit pe strada Lăcătuș din oraș. Din informațiile disponibile suntem aproape siguri că Ignácz a fost croitor, iar Mirjam casnică. În aprilie 1944 Mirjam este forțată de autoritățile maghiare (aflate sub ocupație nazistă) în tabăra de pe Valea Borcutului, iar la final de luna mai este deportată în lagărul de exterminare Auschwitz-Birkenau. Mirjam este ucisă în Holocaust, iar despre soarta lui Ignácz nu avem informații.

Mirjam Katz 1916-ban született Nagybányán(akkor Szatmár vármegye, ma Máramaros megye). Leánykori neve Deutsch Mirjam volt. Férjhez ment Katz Ignáczhoz és a Lakatos utcában laktak. A rendelkezésre álló információk alapján szinte biztosak vagyunk abban, hogy Ignácz szabó, Mirjam pedig háziasszony volt. Mirjamot 1944 áprilisában a magyar hatóságok (akkor náci megszállás alatt) a borkúti táborba kényszerítették, majd május végén az auschwitz-birkenaui megsemmisítő táborba deportálták. Mirjamot a Holokausztban gyilkolták meg, sajnos Ignácz sorsáról nincsenek információnk.

Mirjam Katz was born in 1916 in Baia Mare(then Austro-Hungary, today Romania). Her maiden name was Deutsch Mirjam. She married Katz Ignácz and they lived on Lăcătuș Street in the city. From the available information we are almost certain that Ignácz was a tailor and Mirjam a housewife. In April 1944, Mirjam was forced by the Hungarian authorities (under Nazi occupation) into the camp at Valea Borcutului and at the end of May she was deported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp. Mirjam is murdered in the Holocaust, but we have no information about Ignácz’s fate.
