Stolpersteine pentru familia Berger din Baia Mare

Familia Berger din Baia Mare a fost una dintre cele mai importante familii evreiști din orașul nostru.

Au deținut cofetăria din incinta hotelului Sfântul Ștefan, locație foarte apreciată de băimăreni și artiștii care frecventau Școala de Pictură Băimăreană.

Familia Berger (Lajos, Amalia, Tibi și Judit) a fost deportată în anul 1944. Singura supraviețuitoare a fost Judit, aceasta după eliberarea din lagăr a emigrat în Israel.

Ce dorim să facem noi?

Asociația Maramureș Heritage dorește să amplaseze pe trotuarul din fața fostei cofetării Berger patru Stolpersteine (pietre comemorative cu numele celor patru).

Însă, de data aceasta ne-am gândit să implicăm și comunitatea orașului Baia Mare în acest proiect. Toți cei care vor dona pentru ca acest proiect să fie dus la bun sfârșit vor fi menționați pe siteul asociației noastre.

Într-un final vom implica și primăria municipiului Baia Mare pentru ca să avem toate autorizațiile necesare în momentul în care vom avea strânsă suma necesară amplasării celor patru pietre comemorative.

A nagybányai Berger család városunk egyik legelismertebb zsidó családja volt.

A Berge család üzemeltette a Szent István szállóban található cukrászdát, amelyet a nagybányai lakosok és a nagybányai festőiskolába járó művészek mind nagyra értékeltek.

A Berger családot (Lajos, Amalia, Tibi és Judit) 1944-ben deportálták. Az egyetlen túlélő Judit volt, aki a táborból való szabadulása után Izraelbe emigrált.

Mit akarunk mi?

A Máramaros Heritage Egyesület négy Stolpersteine-t (a család négy tagjának nevével ellátott emlékkövet) szeretne elhelyezni az egykori Berger cukrászda előtti járdán.

Ezúttal azonban arra gondoltunk, hogy a nagybányai közösséget is bevonjuk ebbe a projektbe. Egyesületünk honlapján megemlítjük majd mindazokat, akik adakoznak, hogy ezt a projektet megvalósitsuk.

Majd később bevonjuk Nagybánya város polgármesteri hivatalát is, hogy minden szükséges felhatalmazás meglegyen abban a pillanatban, amikor összegyűjtjük a négy emlékkő elhelyezéséhez szükséges összeget.

The Berger family from Baia Mare was one of the most important Jewish families in our city.

They owned the cake ship in the premises of the Sfântul Ștefan hotel, a location highly appreciated by the people of Baia Mare and the artists who attended the Baia Mare Painting School.

The Berger family (Lajos, Amalia, Tibi and Judit) was deported in 1944. The only survivor was Judit, she emigrated to Israel after her release from the camp.

What do we want to do?

The Asociația Maramureș Hertiage wants to place four Stolpersteine ​​(commemorative stones with the names of the four family members) on the sidewalk in front of the former Berger cake shop.

However, this time we thought of involving the Baia Mare community in this project. All those who will donate to make this project a reality will be mentioned on our association’s website.

In the end, we will also involve the mayor’s office of the municipality of Baia Mare in order to have all the necessary authorizations at the moment when we have collected the amount necessary for the placement of the four commemorative stones.
